Issues with audio playback or config switching on headsets with DTS support?
If you have any of these products:
- Arctis 5, Arctis Pro Wireless, Arctis 7, Arctis 9, Arctis Pro, or GameDAC
Before You Start
- Check if you have GG installed
- Verify your headset is properly connected
- Ensure Windows recognizes your device
And are experiencing any of the following issues when you have GG installed:
- Configuration switching does not work
- Audio does not play through headset when you select your headset’s “Game” output as the audio playback device
- Video does not stream or play locally when you when you select your headset’s “Game” output as the audio playback device
You may be running into an issue in which an installed VPN client blocks GG functionality on headsets where DTS is enabled. In order to resolve, you have several options.
Uninstall/disable VPNs to continue using DTS
- Backup your settings:
- Before uninstalling GG please ensure you have a screenshot of your custom configurations/macros as the steps listed before will be resetting your drives. Also please ensure you save any clips to your desktop as well. This can cause you to lose any custom configurations/macros as well as any clips you have
- Uninstall current software:
- Uninstall GG
- Remove all active VPNs
- Reinstall software:
- Download fresh GG from: https://steelseries.com/gg
- Click the blue "Additional software" banner to reinstall DTS
Other potential options
- You can enable Sonar via Settings > General > Toggle ON Sonar. Once Sonar is enabled, you will have access to additional configurations for your Arctis 9 audio!
- Check if your VPN provider has another method to connect. Not all VPN clients are known to have issues
- Ensure you do not have any additional apps installed from other sources (I.e., the Windows Store) related to DTS. Example: DTS Sound Unbound. This has been known to cause issues with DTS support in GG in the past
- If you have other APO programs running (including but not limited to Realtek HD Audio) try disabling the program and rebooting your PC
