Why do I need proof of purchase?
Here at SteelSeries, we need to be able to 100% identify if the product falls within our applicable Warranty. We also need to be able to identify if the product was purchased from an authorized seller.
Often times products purchased from non-authorized sellers are often used, fake, counterfeit, or defective. These units may also not meet safety standards put forth by SteelSeries. SteelSeries will not be able to honor any Warranty on products for non-authorized sellers. You will need to visit that non-authorized seller yourself for follow-up.
What if I don't have proof of purchase?
If you ordered from SteelSeries.com, we may have a history of your purchase and can simply locate it for you. Things we may require to locate your order:
-
Order Number
-
Email address used to place order
-
Name and Address
If your product is from an authorized reseller of our gear, we'll need the official invoice or receipt. They will often have your purchase on file and can supply a copy for you.
If the gear was a gift, we ask that you reach out to the giver to provide you with a receipt. You may also ask them to handle the process for you, just in case you're not comfortable asking for the receipt.
Genuinely, these policies are in place to protect our valued SteelSeries customers and our resellers.
