Whether you cannot hear any audio coming to the headset or your friends do not hear audio input from your microphone, here are some helpful tips to make sure your setup is correct:
Step 1: Check that you have your headset and mic set as playback and input device in the mixer tab in Sonar.Note: If no device is selected, you’ll see a red frame and a warning around the playback selection menu
Step 2: Check if Sonar devices are your default devices in Windows. If you see a yellow error banner in the mixer tab, clicking on ‘Click to auto set defaults’will automatically setup Windows to use Sonar correctly.
Step 2 (alternative):
Alternatively, you can manually check and set Sonar audio devices as Windows default:
Open sound settings (System -> Sound) and in the Advanced section click on “more sound settings”
A new window will open then on the Playback tab:
make sure Sonar Gaming is your default device (right click on the device, then set as a default audio device) - you’ll see a green flag once this is correctly setup
Similarly make sure Sonar Chat is your default communication device (right click on the device, then set as a default communication audio device) - you’ll see a green flag once this is correctly setup
On the Recording tab:
Make sure Sonar Microphone is your default device (right click on the device, then set as a default audio device) - you’ll see a green flag once this is correctly setup
We recommend testing your microphone to make sure the headset is inputting sound.
Step 3: Check the sound settings of the game or app you are using Sonar with. Often, Games and apps have their own sound settings that may need to be modified.
