Want to share your screen on Discord without that annoying echo or feedback? Dealing with multiple audio sources can be tricky, but with the right setup, you can share audio smoothly! Here’s how to set up Sonar for Streamer with Discord so you can stream hassle-free!
Sonar for Streamers is set up specifically for streaming, so the same can't be achieved in Sonar Classic.
Activate Sonar for Streaming
- Open Sonar Mixer Page:
- Launch the Sonar application on your computer.
- Navigate to the Mixer Page where you can manage your audio settings.
- Activate Sonar for Streamer:
- Locate the option for "Sonar for Streamer" within the Mixer Page.
- Activate this feature to begin configuring your audio setup for streaming.
Configure Audio Devices
- Enable Sonar for Streamers
- Setup your Personal Mix to your correct output device
- Setup Stream Mix to SteelSeries Sonar - Stream
- Mic Input to your correct input device
Adjust Sonar Settings
- Configure Audio Routing:
- Do Not Send Mic to Personal Mix: Avoid sending your microphone audio to the personal mix. This prevents you from hearing your own voice, reducing the risk of echo.
Configure Discord Settings
Screen Sharing Settings:
- When you share your screen on Discord, make sure to adjust the audio settings.
- Disable Share Stream Audio: In the screen sharing options, uncheck the "Share Stream Audio" box. This prevents system sounds from being broadcasted along with your microphone audio, minimizing echo.
General Audio Settings:
- Input: SteelSeries Sonar - Stream
- Output: SteelSeries Sonar - Chat
- Turn off Noise Suppression in Discord
- Start Screen Sharing
- In the Screen Sharing options, disable Share Stream Audio
- In Sonar, you then need to make sure to enable the VAD that you also want to send over the stream to the Stream Mix)
GLHF!
