Want to share your screen on Discord without audio feedback or echo? Handling multiple audio sources can be challenging, but with the right setup, seamless audio sharing is possible! Here's how you configure Sonar for Streamer with Discord to ensure you have a painless streaming experience.
Activate Sonar for Streaming
- Open Sonar Mixer Page:
- Launch the Sonar application on your computer.
- Navigate to the Mixer Page where you can manage your audio settings.
- Activate Sonar for Streamer:
- Locate the option for "Sonar for Streamer" within the Mixer Page.
- Activate this feature to begin configuring your audio setup for streaming.
Configure Audio Devices
- Select Personal Mix and Mic Input:
- In the Sonar Mixer, choose your desired audio device for the Personal Mix. This is the audio you will hear personally.
- Similarly, select the appropriate device for Mic Input to ensure your microphone is correctly configured.
- Set Stream Mix:
- Ensure that "SteelSeries Sonar - Stream" is selected for the Stream Mix. This setting directs the correct audio output to your stream.
Adjust Sonar Settings
- Configure Audio Routing:
- Do Not Send Mic to Personal Mix: Avoid sending your microphone audio to the personal mix. This prevents you from hearing your own voice, reducing the risk of echo.
Configure Discord Settings
Screen Sharing Settings:
- When you share your screen on Discord, make sure to adjust the audio settings.
- Disable Share System Audio: In the screen sharing options, uncheck the "Share System Audio" box. This prevents system sounds from being broadcasted along with your microphone audio, minimizing echo.
General Audio Settings:

- Ensure that your input and output devices in Discord are set to SteelSeries Sonar - Stream for input device. For output device you can select your wanted Sonar VAD (Game, Chat, Media, Aux)
