Is Your Microphone Not Working in Counter-Strike 2? Try These Solutions!
If you're experiencing issues with your microphone in Counter-Strike 2, don't worry! We've got you covered. Before proceeding with the solutions below, please ensure that your microphone is functioning correctly and all your Audio/Graphical drivers are up to date!
Adjusting In-Game Settings
1. Open Steam and launch Counter-Strike 2.
2. Open the Steam overlay by pressing Shift+Tab and navigate to the "Settings" window.
3. Go to the "Voice" tab and select the correct microphone/input device.
4. Set your "Input/Volume Gain" to maximum and disable the "Voice Transmission Threshold."
5. If the "In-game Voice" tab appears (it may appear randomly after speaking in-game), repeat steps 3 and 4 in this tab as well.
Configuring Windows Sound Settings
1. Open the "Sound Control Panel" in Windows.
2. Navigate to the "Recording" tab and locate your desired microphone/input device.
3. Disable all other input devices that you don't intend to use, as Counter-Strike 2 may sometimes mistakenly detect your webcam or game controller as the default mic input.
4. Right-click on the correct microphone/input device and select "Properties."
5. In the "Levels" tab, ensure that your mic/device input volume is set to 100%.
6. Experiment with the "Microphone Boost" level, as this may be the reason why Counter-Strike 2 isn't detecting your mic. We recommend starting with a 20% boost, but this may vary depending on your microphone.
**Please note that you might need to lower your input volume on Discord after adjusting this setting.**
