Is your Microphone, or Audio levels very low even if the volume slider is set to the max?
If you are experiencing an imbalance with your Game/Chat or Mic volume, it’s important to check a few things:
- In the Sonar Mixer tab, you can configure the audio level to your liking. If your Game, Chat, or Mic volume seems too quiet, take a look at the level percentage. If it's low, we suggest cranking it up to something like 100%. This way, you can easily control the volume using the mixer sliders all in one spot.
What does it mean if you have the Mic level to 50% for example? This means that the volume will be perceived at 50% and 50% will be the highest level it will go (even if the volume slider is the max). If your level is 100% and your friends are hearing your mic too loud, you can leave the level to 100% and lower the volume directly with the slider in the mixer - If the audio coming through your headset is too low, check the Gaming and Chat levels. Again, a lower percentage means that the audio coming through to you is at a lower audio level. You can adjust this for yourself if your friend’s voice is coming through too loud on the chat input.
Are your friends telling you your voice is cutting out?
Try checking your settings for noise gate, automatic noise gate, noise reduction. In a quiet environment, those settings should be set to low values. Setting them to high values could lead to voice distortion.
