Hey, if some of your clips in SteelSeries Moments look noticeably darker than your usual gameplay, it might be due to certain Windows or Nvidia settings.
What's Causing This?
Basically, there are two main things that could be messing with your colors:
NVIDIA Control Panel Settings
- Cranking up output color depth to 10 bpc
- Switching output dynamic range from Limited to Full
Windows 11 Color Management
- The “Automatically manage color for apps” feature can mess with how colors look across your apps, including Moments.
How to Fix It (Windows 11 Only):
- Head over to Settings > System > Display > Color Management
- Scroll down to “Color Management”
- Turn off “Automatically manage color for apps”
This stops Windows from automatically changing color profiles, which can cause recordings to look darker.
Also, try resetting NVIDIA Color Settings:
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel
- Go to Display > Change resolution
- Under 3D Settings, set:
- Output color depth: 8 bpc
- Output dynamic range: Limited
- Click Apply
Doing this helps make your recordings and playback look consistent in Moments, even if your monitor supports higher color depths or full dynamic range.
