If you're encountering some of your recorded clips in SteelSeries Moments appear noticeably darker than your regular gameplay, this could be an issue with certain Windows or Nvidia settings.
What Causes This?
This issue can be caused by two main settings:
NVIDIA Control Panel Configuration
- Increasing output color depth to 10 bpc
- Switching output dynamic range from Limited to Full
Windows 11’s Color Management Setting
- A feature called “Automatically manage color for apps” can affect how colors are handled across applications, including Moments.
Adjust Windows Color Management (Windows 11 Only)
- Go to Settings > System > Display > Color Management
- Scroll down to the section titled Color Management
- Disable the option: "Automatically manage color for apps"
This prevents Windows from automatically modifying color profiles, which can lead to darker video output in recordings.
Revert NVIDIA Color Settings
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel
- Navigate to: Display > Change resolution
- Under 3D Settings, set the following:
• Output color depth: 8 bpc
• Output dynamic range: Limited - Click Apply
These settings provide more consistent results for recording and playback in Moments, even on monitors that support 10 bpc or Full dynamic range,
