How Moments Capture Works
Moments automatically detects your games by scanning for installed game launchers on your PC, such as Steam, Origin, or the Xbox app. When you launch a supported game, Moments recognizes it and begins capturing.
*Note that Moments Capture does not work with cloud based games nor will it capture modded games, so mods like FiveM, for example, will not be able to be clipped automatically. *
Moments offers three capture modes:
- Auto Capture (Default)
- Starts with game capture
- Falls back to screen capture if game capture is rejected
- Provides the best balance between game performance and capture success
- Game Capture
- Directly "hooks" into the game
- Captures video and audio from the game window
- Offers slightly better performance than screen capture
- May be blocked by certain games
- Screen Capture
- Records your entire desktop screen
- More flexible and compatible with various game types
- Continues capturing even if direct game capture is unavailable
Each mode has its advantages, and Moments selects the most appropriate one based on your settings and the game's compatibility.
