By default, the GameDAC uses a lower gain setting to comply with regional safety regulations. You can increase the output level by adjusting the gain setting in the menu.
Adjust the gain setting
Step 1
Press and hold the main knob on the GameDAC to open the menu.
Step 2
Select Audio.
Step 3
Navigate to Gain.
Step 4
Set Gain from Low (default) to High.
The audio output will increase by approximately 6 dB.
If you do not see the Gain option
- Make sure your GameDAC firmware is up to date
- Update through SteelSeries GG (Engine) on your computer
Important
- The default gain setting is designed to help protect your hearing and comply with regional safety regulations
- Increasing the gain allows higher volume output
Listening at high volume for extended periods may lead to hearing damage.
If you choose to increase the gain setting, you do so at your own discretion. SteelSeries recommends using moderate volume levels and taking regular breaks during extended use.
If your volume is still low
- Check system and in-game volume levels
- Adjust ChatMix balance if applicable
- Confirm the correct audio device is selected
