The Arctis GameBuds have multiple ways to be EQ'd or processed across a variety of sources.
It is possible that your GameBuds are being Double EQ'd. Double EQing refers to applying an EQ or preset in Sonar and Engine simultaneously. This can result in potential distortion or clipping of the audio signal.
You can avoid this by making sure you are only using one EQ at any given time.
Sonar/GG:
- If you are using Sonar for EQ, set the Engine EQ to Flat
- When using Engine EQ or the mobile app, set the Sonar EQ to Flat
On Console:
Various gaming devices like the PS5 and Xbox include options for audio enhancements and spatialization. This processing could result in distortion or clipping if using it alongside our EQ presets.
If you plan to use enhanced processing from your gaming system, we recommend flattening out any EQ settings in GG or to apply EQ and bypass the audio enhancements.
These features can be used together, but it is very device/setting and game dependent.
