The Arctis GameBuds arrive with a Volume Limiter set to on by default (in accordance with EU Regulations).
This setting can be disabled in GG and the Arctis Companion App.
Be sure to use caution when disabling this setting as our headsets can get quite loud.
GG:
- Open GG
- Go to the Engine tab
- Select the Arctis GameBuds
- On the bottom left-hand corner, you will see the Volume Limiter setting
- Disable the Volume Limiter
Arctis Companion App:
- Open the app
- Select the Arctis GameBuds
- Look for the Volume limiter setting at the bottom of the screen
- Disable the Volume Limiter
Volume Control:

The GameBuds control volume in slightly different ways depending on the mode you're in.
- Bluetooth Mode, the host device and GameBuds volumes will remain in sync.
- 2.4g dongle, the GameBuds device volume can be controlled independently from the device volume. This is to give user greater control and make fine adjustments. If you're audio is not loud enough, it is important to increase the volume of your host device (PC, PS5) and then the volume of your GameBuds (Use the on ear gesture. Tap and then tap and hold on the right bud)
- On PS5 it is important to view your headset level on the PS5 and increase the level.
- Important Notice: SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds are equipped with a default volume limiter in compliance with legal regulations across countries including Brazil and those within the European Union. Disabling or overriding the volume limiter may result in exposure to sound levels that could cause hearing damage.
