The Nova Elite is built with flexibility in mind, giving you the perfect microphone setup whether you’re mid-clutch in a competitive match or just hopping into a quick voice chat. To make this possible, it comes with two microphones and an Auto-Switching feature that handles transitions seamlessly.
❓ What microphones does the Nova Elite have?
Retractable Boom Mic – This is your primary microphone, designed for the clearest voice capture when communication matters most.
On-Ear Mic – A secondary microphone built directly into the headset for casual chats or quick calls when the boom mic is tucked away.
❓ How does Auto-Switching work?
The headset takes care of switching for you:
When the boom mic is extended, it’s automatically the active microphone.
When you retract (slide back) the boom mic into the headset, it mutes itself, and the headset instantly switches to the on-ear mic.
Pressing the mute button on the headset will simultaneously mute both microphones.
No manual toggles, no hassle - just seamless switching.
❓ Can I adjust microphone settings?
Yes! Both microphones can be customized in the SteelSeries Engine (PC) or the Companion App (mobile). Here, you can adjust settings like:
Sidetone (hearing your own voice in the headset)
Volume levels
Other mic preferences
🎯 Why two microphones?
Because gaming isn’t one-size-fits-all, sometimes you want maximum clarity with the boom mic for competitive comms, and sometimes you just want the convenience of a built-in mic without having to extend anything. The Nova Elite adapts to your playstyle.
