Arctis and Nova headsets without the swappable batteries:
- The Micro-USB or USB-c port is used for charging and updating the firmware of the Arctis only.
- To charge the headset, connect the USB Charging Cable to the jack on the headset, and plug the other end into any USB power source.
The colour of the headset power button LED (not the microphone LED) indicates the battery level.
For the Arctis(older) headsets:

For the Nova headsets:

Nova Pro Omni, Nova Elite, Nova Pro Wireless, Arctis Pro Wireless
- You can use the base transmitter station/gamehub that has a battery compartment in it. Here is our separate FAQ about how to properly insert the battery.
- You can also charge the battery inside the headset by using a USB-C charging cable - the charging port is under the left speaker plate.
To see the battery level, you can check the icon on the gamehub/base transmitter station OLED screen

Battery Level in the Software
For all of our headsets, you can check the battery levels within our Engine gear tab view:
You can do so as well in our mobile phone app, just be aware that this applies only to the companion app-compatible devices (currently Arctis Nova Elite, Arctis Pro Omni, Arctis Nova 7/7X/7P gen 1 and 2 headsets, Arctis Nova 5 headset, SteelSeries Gamebuds, and SteelSeries Nova 3 Wireless)
💡️Small tip - if you do not want to stress it out and check the battery every minute. Do not worry, our headsets will give you a heads-up, a beeping sound notification, when you reach the lowest levels around 15%.
