The LED indicators on your Alias Pro microphone help you quickly understand your mic status and input level while you speak. 🎤✨
What do the LED indicators mean?
The LED indicator shows how strong your microphone input is:
- Yellow – This is completely normal while speaking. It means your voice is reaching the upper end of the recommended input level.
- Red – Your microphone input is too high. If you see red often, lower your microphone gain or move slightly farther away from the microphone.
- Mute indicator ("X") – The mute symbol will always display when the microphone is muted, regardless of the LED indicator settings.
Is it okay to see the yellow indicator while speaking?
Yes. The yellow indicator is completely acceptable and simply lets you know your voice is near the ideal peak level.
If the indicator turns red, we recommend:
- lowering the microphone gain, or
- positioning yourself a little farther from the microphone
This helps keep your audio clear and prevents distortion.
How do I turn off the LED indicators?
You can turn the LED indicators off in two ways:
- In SteelSeries Engine under the Alias configuration
- Directly on the microphone by holding down the mute button for 2 seconds
To turn the LED indicators back on, use the same method again.
Can I adjust the brightness of the indicators?
Yes. You can adjust the brightness of the mute indicator in SteelSeries Engine.
