Having trouble getting your Nova 1 microphone fully operational? Let’s check the basics first!
It may seem simple, but let’s ensure the cord is connected correctly. The 5-conductor plug needs to go into the headset for all functions to work. The end with the nub (highlighted in blue) connects to your desired device (PC, console, phone), while the 5-conductor end (highlighted in green) plugs into the headset.
Once that’s sorted, here’s what to check next:
On PC:
- Ensure the default Windows audio drivers are selected as your input/output device.
- Check your privacy settings to allow Windows access to your microphone.
- If you're using Sonar, make sure the correct device is selected. Since Nova 1 is an analog headset, it’ll show up as a Realtek device. If your PC has multiple analog devices connected, you might see more than one option.
On Consoles:
- You can just head to settings and confirm the correct input device is selected.
