You can adjust the balance between game audio and voice chat directly from your DualSense controller.
While PS5 does not support hardware ChatMix like PC, you can control audio balance through system settings.
Since the PS5 doesn't support external hardware ChatMix dials, you’ll be using the Control Center to find your sweet spot. Just follow these steps:
Open the Quick Menu: Tap the PS Button on your DualSense controller.
Find the Volume: Select the Sound icon (it looks like a little speaker).
Adjust the Mix: Select Voice Chat Balance.
Slide to Win: * Slide it toward Game to immerse yourself in the soundtrack.
Slide it toward Voice Chat to hear the callouts clearly.
🛠️ Is the Slider Greyed Out?
Don't worry—your controller isn't broken! The Voice Chat Balance slider only "wakes up" when you are actually in a chat.
To unlock it, make sure you have joined a Party or are active in an in-game voice channel. Once you're connected to your crew, the slider will be ready for action.
If that does not help, try to reopen the sound menu and adjust the Voice Chat Balance slider
