What happens if I unplug from my PC an audio device that I was using as target device (playback/input) in Sonar?
Sonar will loop through all your active audio devices in Windows to find the ones which have been previously set manually as the target devices. Once identified, the most recent will automatically become your new target device. If no audio device has been previously manually set as a target device, then Sonar will loop through all active audio devices in Windows and select the first in the list.
What happens to Sonar target devices if plug an audio device to my PC?
If the plugged audio device has never been connected to your PC, then Sonar will use it as a target device. Please note that the same device on a new USB port will be considered as a new device. If the plugged audio device has already been connected to your PC(at least once)then you can have three cases:
- Your current target device has been manually set as the target device at least once. Then Sonar will not use the plugged device as a target device
- If your current target device has never been manually set as the target device but your newly plugged device has, then Sonar will use the plugged device as a target device
- Both your current target device and the device you just plugged were not previously set manually as target devices Then Sonar will not use the plugged device as a target device
