If you’re running a game through Xbox Game Pass and Moments isn’t detecting it or not auto-clipping those epic plays. Some Game Pass titles, especially those streamed via Xbox Cloud Gaming or installed from the Microsoft Store, can be tricky for Moments to detect. This is mainly due to:
- Cloud Games not being fully installed on your system (they stream instead).
- File structure differences in how Microsoft stores UWP (Universal Windows Platform) games.
- Recent game updates that may change the executable or folder paths Moments uses to detect gameplay.
Until we can fully support Game Pass titles, we recommend using manual clipping in Moments for now. That way, you won’t miss capturing your killstreaks, clutch revives, or wild outplays just because auto-clip didn’t kick in.
You can manually clip anytime during your session, just press your custom hotkey and Moments will take care of the rest.
What If It Was Working Before?
If Moments used to auto-detect and clip your Game Pass title but suddenly stopped, check if your game recently updated. A patch may have changed how it runs or where it lives on your system, which could break detection temporarily.
We’re actively working on improving Moments detection and Game Pass support.
